It seems to me these days that the modern fans are ecstatic at finishing in the top 4 but for me we play football to win a trophy or two. That's what it is all about really.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13478022727184425408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104587254695153703.post-13701173489265827862018-02-11T05:29:34.114-08:002018-02-11T05:29:34.114-08:00Someone needs to explain you don't get a troph...Someone needs to explain you don't get a trophy for finishing second, third or fourth.
And as anyone that is not a ***** fan will say - its the trophies that count.
Its funny though - even I will admit last season was a shower of shit for Arsenal yet we still had something to put in the trophy cabinet.
And that is what its all about...leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03195964127975728459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104587254695153703.post-11715865325327919982018-02-11T05:22:06.928-08:002018-02-11T05:22:06.928-08:00Yes, overall we HAVE been the dominant club for th...Yes, overall we HAVE been the dominant club for the past 3 years, not just in N London, but in the PL (from an overall points/results, plus goals scored and conceded aspect). But the Arse have still won trophies in this time, and we haven't! I don't support the 'trophies at all cost' thing that pervades the philosophy of the big clubs as though it was their 'right', just as I hate seeing the Man City and Chelsea interlopers (into what was the big 5 throughout the '60s, 70s, and 80s - Spurs, Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Everton) parade around with Russian and Petrol money, buying the 'best' footballers for fun, and forgetting about promoting from within. But it would be a tragedy for our club if we don't win things with this squad, and perhaps one would prove a catalyst for others. I've seen far worse Spurs teams win trophies in the past, so not to win something soon would be horrible. But again remember this. Football is an entertainment business, and we are thoroughly entertained watching our side. We have been for 3 seasons, and we were under Harry Redknapp for 2 or 3 seasons too. People don't go to the theatre or movies in the expectation it will win an Oscar or theatre award. If they're entertained then they don't care if it doesn't get bloody nominated for this or that trophy. OK ..I'm exaggerating a bit because our club is our own, but trophies or not at the moment, these are great times to be watching Tottenham. c b watershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06633870113262552201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104587254695153703.post-39218458804169533622018-02-11T04:25:04.554-08:002018-02-11T04:25:04.554-08:00For the last 3 years Spurs have been the dominant ...For the last 3 years Spurs have been the dominant club in North London. They should have been at least 3-0 up (if not more) by the time Arsenal had their first shot from inside the box in stoppage time. Don't be fooled by only losing 1-0 yesterday when the performance gap was far greater. Arsenal have never been further away from winning the league in Arsene's 20 odd years at the club and now you're going to finish outside of the top for a second season running. I'm a Utd fan and trust me, talk of a power shift in Manchester has been brought up plenty of times in the last 7-8 years by the press and pundits. Probably not quite as much when it comes to Spurs and Arsenal though, granted because Utd have won so much more than City have in the last 10-20 years. The odd FA or League Cup isn't going to be anywhere near enough to keep Spurs at bay anymore for Arsenal. You better put all your efforts into winning Europa League like Utd did last year or you lot could be in serious trouble until you move on from Wenger.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10687176251026879956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1104587254695153703.post-66908943674807887382018-02-11T03:43:52.925-08:002018-02-11T03:43:52.925-08:00You lost get over it. There is a power shift going on no matter how much you seek to deny it and that power shift will intensify with the new Stadium when more money will flow into the club.
